THE SONIC GARDEN

The Sonic Garden by Indigo Jung et al. invites audiences to consider nature’s role in reclamation of space.

The garden is place for patrons to rest and retreat away from the decay and pressure of  the modern culture.

As gatekeepers of buildings, militaries, finance and public communities decide what space is taken and which space is destroyed – it is nature, in its complex drive that overcomes any misguided intentions by humans over enough time.

Objects in the space can be interacted with to hear audibly the deep mechanics of raw materials. Realities first and final reclaimer is the garden.

The Sonic Garden was hosted at the Militia preview event at Stretford Mall, 06.06.25 curated by Amy, Sophia, Denzel. The project was converting Stretford Shopping Mall’s abandoned Chemist into an art exhibition and studio space in the planning period for Bruntwood UK’s redevelopment of the area. Militia hosted 24 artists to work on the theme of “Resistance, force, raw materials, unpolished, & reclaimation of space.”
